Instagram Rooms are now available for viewing on Android

Instagram announced its new feature called Rooms that allows multiple people to host the live stream. It works a lot like voice chats in Twitter Spaces or Clubhouse but still with video. That was also mentioned the eventually they may have a voice-only version of this feature as well.

Instagram Rooms are under rollout to all users at this moment and they should be already available for viewing. It is not clear yet when users will be able to start such live streams themselves. It is important to note that this feature was available to some users in India for a while.

Opinion: The name of this feature is also quite similar to Rooms that exists on Facebook. Is it a new strategy to release similar products on Facebook and Instagram and then starting to merge them into one, like it is happening with messages?

If you are quick enough you may try to test it yourself on this live stream (from 1st of March).
