Twitter now highlights Space hosts in your feed and starting rolling out Space creation functionality on Android

At first, you may notice that live Space hosts have a purpure glow around their profiles. This change also comes along with a slight Space card redesign. Profiles of participants got moved to the right and it also got a status text showing if Space is currently live. These minor tweaks should be already available to everyone.

However, some users also have reported that Space creation is now available for them as well. The button leaves inside the main FAB that opens a separate option for starting a Space.

This feature may be only available to a very small number of users and likely to those who were hosting Spaces from iOS in the past. The feature has to be turned on on the server-side and this time it is not enough to have a certain client version.

How to test:

  • Open Twitter and tap on the main fab button.
  • Check if you have Spaces option available.
