Sesame has released a fresh preview of its voice assistant in its iOS and Android apps, powered by a new voice model, while outlining a three-part plan for all-day AI glasses. The company is designing frames, intelligence, and characters as one product, built to make assistance available throughout the day without relying on a screen.

The hardware starts with frames Sesame says people will want to wear every day. Its collection will be made in Japan by craftspeople with decades of experience, with attention to weight, hinges, fit, materials and polish. Each frame is shaped, polished and fitted by hand over several days. More details are due in the coming months.

The assistant is intended to serve as the voice-first operating system for the glasses. In the October release, Sesame’s agents are smarter and each has access to its own computer. Users can speak to them hands-free, ask them to plan a trip, explore a personal project or research a hobby, then receive an update when the work is ready. The assistants can use tools, coordinate other agents and connect to everyday services, beginning with several Google apps. Users can also attach their own MCPs.

Sesame used Maya, Miles, Charlie and Simone to develop the release and orchestrate agents including Devin, Claude Code and Codex by voice while walking, commuting or working at a desk. Developer tooling for building Sesame apps is planned for later this year.

Character is the third part of the strategy. Writers, producers, actors and researchers create scripts, character bibles and scenes together, shaping voice and personality as one system. Maya and Miles were Sesame’s early bet, and their personalities are now designed to come through more clearly. The company has reduced sycophancy and repetitive phrasing so its characters can challenge users instead of reflexively agreeing.

An updated Conversational Speech Model also brings more expressive speech and clearer pronunciation, particularly in long conversations. Better memory, new characters and additional developer tools are due later this year. Sesame has not said when the glasses themselves will be available.
