Summary
TestingCatalog uses AI tools to help us report on AI faster. A human editor stays in charge: every AI-assisted article is reviewed and edited by Alexey Shabanov, founder and editor-in-chief. We disclose AI assistance on the articles where it is used, and we never use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, or screenshots.
How we use AI
We use AI as an assistant, not as an author working on its own. Specifically:
- Drafting some news posts. Some news articles are drafted with AI assistance and published under the byline "Erin | AI Agent".
- Research help. Gathering and organizing public information, such as announcements, release notes, and documentation, which we then check.
- Summarization. Condensing long documents, changelogs, or discussions so we can review them more quickly.
- Newsletter drafting. Helping prepare drafts of the TestingCatalog Daily AI Brief, which are reviewed before sending.
Human oversight
Every AI-assisted article is reviewed and edited by Alexey Shabanov before publication. That review covers facts, sourcing, context, wording, and whether a claim should be labeled as confirmed, as a finding from testing or code, or as a rumor.
AI does not decide what we publish. Editorial judgment and responsibility for accuracy stay with a human editor, and the same standards apply to AI-assisted articles as to everything else we publish. See our Editorial Policy.
What AI does not do
- No fabricated quotes or sources. We do not publish quotes, sources, or statements generated by AI. Quotes come from real people and real, verifiable sources.
- No fake screenshots. We do not present AI-generated images as real screenshots. Screenshots in our articles are real captures from our own testing or from the original source.
- No unreviewed publishing. AI-assisted drafts are not published without human review and editing.
Disclosure
Articles that were drafted with the help of AI carry this note:
Drafted with AI assistance, reviewed and edited by Alexey Shabanov.
We believe readers should know how our content is made. The EU AI Act (Article 50) sets transparency rules for AI-generated content, including text published to inform the public on matters of public interest. In plain terms: when AI is used to produce such content, people should be told, unless the content has gone through human review or editorial control and someone holds editorial responsibility for it. At TestingCatalog, every AI-assisted article goes through human editorial review and Alexey Shabanov holds editorial responsibility for it. We still label AI assistance openly, because transparency is part of how we earn readers' trust.
Errors and feedback
If you spot an error in any article, AI-assisted or not, please let us know. We correct mistakes promptly, as described on our Corrections page. Questions or feedback about how we use AI are welcome through our Contact page.
