World App has launched a major update, introducing World Chat—an integrated, end-to-end encrypted messaging platform within the app. All users now have access to this feature, which supports text, group chats, media sharing, and global payments directly inside conversations. Mini Apps from third-party developers now operate directly inside chats, expanding the platform’s utility with tools like prediction markets, games, and savings products. The chat’s security is based on the XMTP protocol, ensuring privacy by not collecting metadata.

This release is immediately available to World App users in over 100 countries on both iOS and Android. Users can also access new virtual account features in 18 countries, including the US and Japan, allowing direct paycheck deposits and seamless conversion to USDC. The app now supports a broader range of digital currencies, including USDC, EURC, and several Latin American stablecoins, with no in-app conversion fees.
The Earn feature enables users to receive variable rewards on supported assets, leveraging proof of human verification to prevent abuse. Industry experts note that this approach addresses challenges of trust and identity in digital communication, while competitors face pressure to match integrated payments and verification features at scale.
