TestingCatalog got search functionality along with other speed and design improvements on web

This is not a traditional post for TestingCatalog but worth reading if you wont to know more about the project.

There have been some updates on the website that are now available to everyone.

Search functionality

Now you can quickly search for keywords in post headlines. Whether you are looking for a post about a specific app or feature, now it should be possible.

In addition to that, lots of design elements got updated and reshuffled. You may notice them here and there but most of them a minor.

Another good change is speed improvement. Now the website should be loading at least 20% faster.

The main aim behind this update was the upcoming change in Google rankings that will count on their new Core Web Vitals feature. It would prioritize fast loading and mobile-optimized websites higher than before.
There is still a huge work that has to be done on the content side but there is also a chance that this speed improvement alone will give a boost in traffic to this website. We will find it out in May or June.

If that will be the case, there is still an additional speed improvement that can be made by utilizing extra caching from Cloudflare. The only issue is that it costs 20$ a month also and it yet not clear if current ads will cover this 🤔

How do you feel about this change? Design, speed, search?
