Runway is planning to release its Gen-3 text-to-video model in Alpha mode soon, and we got a sneak peek of the upcoming onboarding introduction screens. A few weeks ago, Runway announced the capabilities of this new model, which could potentially reach the level of Sora, according to demos shared by their team. This release is expected to be another breakthrough in the field of text-to-video models, possibly even surpassing what LumaLabs offered with their Dream Machine.
One key differentiator of the Gen-3 Alpha model is its ability to generate text on videos. Overall, the demos look very impressive. Currently, this Alpha model is hidden from users. However, on the home screen, you will see an introduction inviting you to give it a try. Access will be restricted to pro-subscribers, and it won’t be available to free users. Users will have the option to switch between the Gen-2 and Gen-3 models in the video editor.
Additionally, most of the Gen-2 features, such as Motion Brush and Lip Sync, will also be available in the new Gen-3 tool, which is good news. We will have to wait and see how long it takes for the full release, but it seems like the front-end part of the Runway website is ready.
