On 24 April 2025, the Stockholm-based startup Lovable released Lovable 2.0, an update to its chat-driven app builder that adds real-time teamwork and a built-in security scan. This update aims to help freelancers, small startups, and no-code creators push projects to production faster.

The new build introduces a Chat Mode Agent that can plan and debug across several steps—searching files, reading logs, and querying databases—without touching source code. Workspaces allow Pro subscribers to invite two collaborators, while the new Teams tier supports up to twenty members sharing credits. A Security Scan checks Supabase-backed apps for vulnerabilities at publish time, and a refreshed interface sits on top of existing Dev Mode, visual style editing, and one-click custom domains. Pricing begins at $25 per month for Pro and $30 for Teams.

Early reviews on Medium and YouTube highlight the smarter AI assist and synchronous editing, contrasting it with the platform’s earlier solo workflow. However, Reddit threads caution about token burn during complex error loops. Observers note that the new workspace model now puts Lovable alongside Replit’s Ghostwriter and Bubble’s team offerings.

Lovable was founded in 2023 by Anton Osika and Fabian Hedin. The firm claims 500,000 users building 25,000 apps daily and reported an annual run rate of $17 million before closing a $15 million pre-Series A led by Creandum in February 2025. The 15-person team positions the platform as a way to give the majority who cannot code direct access to a software engineer in the browser.
