It seems like Grok is learning how to analyze text files. Unlike before, now you can upload text files to the standalone Grok version, allowing Grok to parse and understand the content and provide accurate responses. Previously, only image uploads were supported, and on the X version of Grok, you can still only upload image files, not text files. Currently, only TXT file extensions are enabled, so you cannot upload text files with other extensions.
This is an interesting addition to the Grok Vision feature. In the future, it could make Grok’s code mode more useful if users can upload code files directly to the standalone version. At present, all these features are hidden behind feature flags and are still in development. It’s unclear when they will be released, but the image upload feature seems to be working on the X version. We may see some new features coming out around August.
