Google is preparing several new additions for Gemini, aimed at expanding its capabilities for both current and migrating users. The “import AI chats” feature, labeled as beta, is set to appear in the attachment menu. This option is designed to let users upload conversations exported from other AI platforms, allowing continued usage and context preservation within Gemini. For users switching from competing solutions, this approach may address a major pain point: loss of accumulated conversational history. All imported and continued chats are stored in the user's activity, and the data will also contribute to further training of Google’s models, making data privacy an important consideration.

Another upcoming addition surfaced in settings as “Likeness,” which currently leads to a “Video Verification” page. Details are sparse, but this could signal the start of tools related to authenticating or analyzing video content, possibly to address concerns around AI-generated media. The early stage of development means the final purpose may shift before public release.

Image generation in Gemini is also seeing an upgrade, with the interface now set to offer downloads in higher resolutions, specifically, 2K and 4K, with the highest quality noted as “best for print.” This opens possibilities for users interested in using AI-generated visuals in physical formats, similar to services already available in Google Photos. While direct print integration is not confirmed, these resolution options make exporting content for personal or commercial use much easier.

These features reflect Google’s ongoing strategy to position Gemini as a comprehensive AI assistant, supporting migration, content management, and creative output for both new and existing users.
