Google has unveiled a major update to its Flow creative suite, now rolling out a redesigned interface focused on both image and video generation. This release incorporates capabilities from Google’s previous image generation tools, Whisk and ImageFX, directly into Flow’s workflow, allowing creators to manage all aspects of their projects without switching platforms. The integration of Nano Banana, an advanced image model, brings high-fidelity image generation to users, who can immediately use these images as individual frames for Veo video productions.

The update targets artists, filmmakers, marketers, and early adopters who have already contributed to over 1.5 billion creations since Flow’s initial launch. Starting in March, current users of Whisk and ImageFX are able to transfer their existing projects and assets into Flow, maintaining continuity across their creative work. The feature is available publicly, and users can generate images at no cost within the platform.

This update is significant for Google’s ongoing efforts to consolidate creative AI tools, positioning Flow as a unified workspace for generating, editing, and animating both images and videos. The new interface introduces flexible asset management and gives creators more granular control over editing. Flow’s core improvements leverage Google DeepMind’s Gemini technology for image generation, setting it apart from earlier versions by supporting seamless, cross-modal workflows in a single environment.
