This plan targets professionals such as researchers, engineers, and other users requiring advanced AI capabilities for complex tasks. ChatGPT Pro costs 200$ a month and offers access to OpenAI's most advanced models, including:
- o1, a flagship model optimized for reasoning tasks.
- o1 Pro Mode, which utilizes more computational resources to deliver highly reliable and accurate responses for challenging problems.
- o1-mini, a faster but less detailed version of o1.
- GPT-4o, a general-purpose model.
- Advanced Voice Mode, enabling natural voice interactions with the AI.
The o1 Pro Mode stands out for its enhanced reliability, evaluated using a rigorous "4/4 reliability" metric. This ensures consistent performance in areas like data science, programming, and legal analysis. Benchmarks show that o1 Pro Mode excels in tasks such as competition math (AIME), coding challenges (Codeforces), and PhD-level science questions (GPQA Diamond).
Subscribers also benefit from unlimited usage of these models, even during peak times, and priority access to future features. However, the computationally intensive nature of o1 Pro Mode means response times may be slower, with progress bars indicating completion status.
Availability and Target Audience
ChatGPT Pro is available now for individual subscriptions globally. It is primarily aimed at professionals working on complex or compute-heavy tasks in fields such as data science, engineering, law, and medical research. OpenAI has also awarded ten initial grants to U.S.-based medical researchers to support impactful studies using ChatGPT Pro.
