Anthropic appears to be entering the final stage of preparing its much-anticipated memory feature for Claude. This capability will allow the AI to remember and store key parts of previous conversations, making it possible for users to pick up where they left off in their chats. The rollout of memory is especially relevant for users relying on Claude for ongoing tasks, research, or any context-heavy workflows, which until now required manually referencing earlier conversations. Memory management will be accessible directly from settings, giving users full control to review and delete stored memories as needed, a practical approach for those concerned with privacy or sensitive data.

Alongside memory, private chats are also being prepped for a broader launch, based on updates found in recent web builds. These chats, described as working much like an incognito mode, prevent conversation data from being stored or referenced later. Both web and mobile versions have been updated, strongly suggesting an imminent rollout. These features fill crucial gaps in Anthropic’s product, bringing Claude closer in line with user expectations set by competing AI platforms like ChatGPT, which have had some form of memory and privacy controls for a while.
Memory synthesis and Incognito mode might be coming soon to the Claude web app, as the redacted strings have been replaced with real messages in recent deployments

These developments come as Anthropic continues to position itself as a privacy-conscious and user-focused company in the AI space. If these features do launch this week, it would mark a significant step in their ongoing effort to close feature parity with rivals and address common user requests for both convenience and privacy.
