Perplexity is preparing to enter the consumer health AI space with Perplexity Health, a dedicated section within its app that would allow users to connect health data providers, enter personal medical information, and access specialized AI agents, all within a secure, private environment.
The timing is notable. Microsoft just launched Copilot Health on March 12, 2026, joining OpenAI’s ChatGPT Health from January 2026, along with Amazon and Anthropic, which also debuted healthcare-focused AI products this year. Health AI has quickly become a competitive battleground, and Perplexity clearly does not intend to sit it out. The company has already proven it can build verticalized data products: Perplexity Finance, which recently partnered with Plaid to let users connect brokerage accounts for AI-powered portfolio analysis, now gives Computer access to over 40 live finance tools. Health appears to follow the same playbook, connect real user data, layer dashboards on top, and let AI do the reasoning.
What sets Perplexity Health apart from competitors is the combination of data visualization and purpose-built agents. Where Copilot Health and ChatGPT Health focus primarily on conversational Q&A grounded in medical records and wearable data, Perplexity’s approach includes dedicated agents like a Nutrition Agent, which could leverage Perplexity Computer to build personalized nutrition plans, and a Sleep Assistant Agent.
The health page itself functions as a customizable directory with dashboards, suggested prompts, and data exploration tools, making it more of a personal health hub than a simple chatbot. Users who currently pay for standalone nutrition or workout planning apps may find this built-in approach appealing.
The feature appears to be launching only in the United States initially, mirroring the rollout strategy of both Copilot Health and ChatGPT Health. For Perplexity, which reached a $21 billion valuation and roughly $200 million in annual recurring revenue by early 2026, Health represents another step in its transformation from answer engine to a full-stack personal intelligence platform.
