OpenAI appears to have increased the rate limits for its recent o1 models, including o1 mini. Users can now send up to 50 messages per day on both models, whereas previously this was a weekly limit. Additionally, there are user reports suggesting that o1 mini is appearing in their drop-down menus, indicating that this model may soon become available to free users.
In case you missed it, o1 features advanced reasoning capabilities and is currently the latest OpenAI model available on the market.
Furthermore, it seems that the knowledge cutoff date for 4o has been updated to September 2024. This update has occasionally appeared to users and has been confirmed by OpenAI employees, highlighting that this updated model was already available for testing on the Lmsys Arena.
Lastly, Perplexity has also integrated o1 in beta mode with very strict rate limits of 10 messages per day. It appears as a new separate focus mode but currently doesn't support search capabilities.
