Mistral AI is progressing with several updates to its Le Chat platform, visible now behind feature flags and aimed at a broader set of power users and organizations interested in fine-tuning AI responses. One upcoming addition is a cloud of suggested prompts on the homepage, allowing users to quickly start chats using various pre-built ideas that leverage the latest model improvements. This prompt cloud will likely appeal to both new users seeking guidance and experienced users wanting to test recent model updates in different scenarios.

The more substantial feature in development is called Tone, accessible from the Intelligence drop-down. Tone is shaping up to be a configurable system for adjusting the style and behavior of the assistant, similar to Claude’s writing style presets or the Custom Instructions in ChatGPT.

Users will be able to pick from presets like “professional” or create their own tone profiles, adding custom instructions or mixing capabilities through a builder interface. This would also enable organization-level tuning, letting teams align the AI’s output with company-specific needs and communication standards.

These leaked features suggest Mistral is working to close the customization gap with its US-based competitors, and might soon make it easier for both individuals and teams to personalize their AI assistant’s output. The features are not yet public, but with upcoming events in Paris such as AI.Engineer on the horizon, there’s a strong chance Mistral will showcase these updates or provide a timeline soon. This direction fits with Mistral’s push for more adaptable, context-aware AI tools that can be shaped by users to fit a variety of workflows and organizational contexts.
