Microsoft is gradually rolling out more customization options in Copilot, with new references to a feature called Personality Studio. At this stage, the functionality is limited to a personality selector similar to what’s already available in ChatGPT, allowing users to choose from a minimal set of default styles such as concise. The personality selector is visible in the chat interface, but currently only the default setting is accessible, suggesting a phased introduction. This places Copilot somewhat behind its competitors in terms of personalization features, as advanced controls remain unavailable.

The latest updates also involve changes to memory management within Copilot, positioning it closer to other customization settings like personalization. This aligns the UI with a more unified approach to user preferences and session management. Additionally, work continues on a reminders category, and traces of video generation support persist, indicating possible future expansions in creative capabilities.

Despite ongoing updates, a large share of Copilot users are still on GPT 5.1, with only a small group having access to GPT 5.2. The delay in a wider rollout of the newer model remains unexplained, leaving users waiting for a potential performance boost and new features that GPT 5.2 could bring. For now, Copilot’s feature set is growing incrementally, but with some notable gaps compared to leading alternatives. These developments reflect Microsoft’s strategy of methodically refining Copilot, though broader access to advanced features will be a key factor in closing the gap with other AI platforms.
