Based on recent leaks that surfaced on the web for the past month, we got inspired to make a list with the top five Instagram for Android features and changes that are highly anticipated and possibly may go live in November.
So, without further ado, here they are:
1. A new profile UI layout
A new UI layout for the 'Profile' section is in the works, with a swapped profile photo position, a bolder username text and a larger 'Edit' button. This redesign puts slightly more emphasis on the bio and the shared content of the user. It, for sure, looks a little cleaner, while still packing a ton of information.
2. A new option for reporting hacked accounts
To overcome issues with the huge amount of hacked Instagram accounts we are all witnesses of, there is a new button named 'I think it was hacked' that we shall see soon. It is part of the reasons for reporting a profile and accessible on every account from the three-dots menu - Report...
3. Countdown Sticker
You can name, set the end date and time, or make all day long the upcoming Countdown sticker for "The Gram". I certainly cannot come with a reason to use it, but who knows? Perhaps, you may set it to remind you about New Year's Eve.
4. Share Stories as links
Sharing Stories as links are being prepared, so get ready to start sharing them across the web. Also, the URL format is going to look like: https://instagram.com/stories/testingcatalog/...
5. Instagram will let Business users promote their Stories
IG is working on a paid option named "Promote", similar to Facebook's Boost, which will eventually inject business page chosen ads into your Stories queue. Page admins can also decide to auto-target user groups, identical with the parameters of their followers, and more.
Other than the five above, there was another, this time officially launched feature, which lets you share IGTV videos to your Stories that we wanted to inform you about.
