I am happy to see one more big player coming down to the beta testing area.
Can be a good alternative to all windows users. This browser has a couple of things I like.
- Bookmarks Icons. As soon as the user creates a bookmark it appears as a standalone shortcut on the home screen.
- Full-screen view. Easy to switch between mobile/desktop views. This is helpful when a website is not optimised for mobiles + useful for web developers b/c they can test two different resolutions on the mobile device.
A list of issues.
Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Android 6.0.1
There was a small delay after the second app opening between app launch and main view visualisation if the app was cleared out from the memory. The "search view" was opened for 1-2 second, screenshot.
The search edit text field on the main page jumps in case if the user closes opened search dialogue with a back button (Video). It feels like there are several styles applied sequentially for the search box.
Back button closes the app in case if the user scrolled the website (Video).
The reading mode button appears on the Youtube website in case if any website with the article was opened previously in the same tab. This icon doesn't react on the user actions in this case.
An article from https://www.testingcatalog.com/project/629 URL, saved in the reading mode displayed "Couldn't find this content" message after the second opening. The app was cleared out from the memory.
