Instagram Beta & Alpha for Android Community Report

In this article, we are going to cover the newly released Instagram features for the month of September. We separated them into three categories as follows:

Released

  • GIFs in Direct
  • Tagging for video posts
  • Emoji bar in the comments section
  • 'Rate the app on the Play Store' pop-up
  • Mention stickers
  • ‘Stars’ are now called ‘Flags’
  • New superzoom effects. You can read our special article covering those.

In testing

  • Stories Highlight stickers. They allow users to turn someone else’s Stories Highlight from their profile into a sticker to overlay on their own Story.
  • Quiz stickers. By using the Quiz stickers, you can make your own quizzes with designated answers, that let you verify if your followers know the right answer.
  • IGTV suggestions in the ‘Explore’ tab.
  • Quick replies.
  • Instatags in the sidebar

Hidden

  • Adding hashtags to posts without including them in the post captions. There is a new separate option that is being shown dedicated for adding hashtags” underneath the caption composer and the people tagger.
  • Location limiting for posts and stories (geofenced sharing). This feature may enable Instagram users to design different content and captions for different countries and languages.

Tell us which one is your favorite and are the ones in testing available for you. Until next time, bye!
