    Instagram Beta & Alpha Report

Google Pixel XL 2, Android 8.1.0; Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Android 6.0.1

In the latest Alpha, you can find several new features which were discovered by beta_previewer.

    Unofficial changelog:

    • Users can now delete notifications from the notifications tab.

If you want to try this feature you will need to open notifications tab and hold a notification entry. You will see a popup menu with "delete" button. Additionally, you will be asked to confirm this action. It is important to mention that only notification will be removed and not a "like" or "follower".

    • Users now can access "Your Activity" page.

This page is located in the settings menu - Account section - Your Activity. It shows your daily time spent in Instagram app with a daily average as a summary.

    • Users now can set a daily reminder if their usage will exceed a certain threshold.
    • Users can now configure Push notification settings from the Your Activity screen

From the Your Activity screen, you can now set a daily reminder to be warned by the app if you spent too much time in Instagram. Additionally, you can configure which pushes do you want to receive in order not to be disturbed by them too frequently right from this screen.

APK teardown of Instagram app didn't show any additional changes except that 2-factor Authorisation labels were removed from the app. It looks like they were moved to the server side for some reason. This tab now also takes more time to load.

My daily average for this app is 40 minutes which is fine for me. What is your daily average? Drop you timings in comments 👻
