    Dear testers,

We have just released a new beta with some bug fixes and minor tweaks. Most importantly we have attempted to cure the problem with sketches disappearing from the private gallery that a few users have reported. If you have seen this problem, please install the update and let us know how it works.

    Hello beta testers!

We have just released a new beta with fixes and a few new goodies. Let us know what you think!

If you would like to try something a little more advanced, check out the blending mode option for layers shown in the screenshot (the background is a photo of the carpet at the Sony office). The Otto on the left has blending mode set to "multiply", which makes him sink into the carpet. The Otto on the right is how it looks with "normal" blending. I have also "dyed" my carpet with rainbow watercolor by setting my drawing layer to multiply.

    More things to come soon!

    Hi beta testers!

There is a new beta out for you to try out. In addition to bug fixes, we have tweaked a few of the brushes in response to user feedback. The most noticeable one is that the pencil is reverted to how it was before the beta, so that is draws thicker and grainier strokes.

This time we have included a settings screen in the editor with some experimental features:

Brush stroke smoothing will even out some of the squiggliness that occurs on some devices when trying to draw a straight line. Later we might add the possibility of changing the amount of smoothing. Please give us feedback on this one!

Brush stroke animations only work for three brushes: watercolor, dots, and stars. This is an experimental feature that is meant to add some feel and liveliness to some of the brushes. Depending on feedback we might do more work on this or remove it.

If you turn off "lock device orientation", you will be able to rotate your device in the editor and the UI will rotate with you. Also, when you open a landscape sketch on a phone, the UI will no longer rotate automatically if this setting is turned off.

The last one (interpolation) is a special setting for developers and beta testers. It makes it possible to more easily inspect the individual pixels of a sketch when you zoom in. This mode is much slower than the normal one (it will probably make the editor lag a lot and hard to use), so use it sparingly.

Let us know what you think!

    Dear testers,

We are trying to figure out what is causing crashes for users running Android 6 (Marshmallow). If you are using such a device and Sketch crashes, please try to remember as much as you can about what you were doing when it crashed, and tell us here about it.

    Hello beta testers!

Thank you to all of you who have installed the beta version of Sketch, and a special big thank you for all the great feedback and bug reports you have sent us!

There is a new beta (8.4.C.0.5) out with several fixes for issues reported by you. Please install it today and let us know how it works for you.

Many of you have reported that the app crashes randomly while drawing and doing other things. We have made improvements that should take care of most of that. Please let us know if this new version causes any crashes.

The pixel brush now uses a grid size that matches the pixel size.

A couple of issues with color selection and opacity has also been fixed.

    Hello sketchers!

The new brush tool is taking form and we would love for you to try it out and give us your feedback so we can perfect it!

To become a beta tester, follow the instructions under "About community".

In this beta we have doubled the number of brushes, and made a number of improvements to existing brushes.

By tapping the settings icon in the upper left corner you get access to the attributes and settings for each brush, and you can tweak your brush in every little detail.

In the current version you cannot save new brushes. That will be added in a coming beta. Stay tuned!
