# New Claude feature aims to handle files exceeding current context limits

Recent reports from @btibor91 and TestingCatalog highlight Anthropic's development of a new feature for Claude, an AI assistant, which supports reference files. This feature could potentially allow users to work with files that exceed Claude's current context window limit of 200,000 tokens.

Currently, when users attempt to upload files larger than this limit, they encounter an error. However, the new feature would enable users to upload such files and interact with them by extracting content in chunks.
