# New Claude AI tool lets users explain or improve code segments

Anthropic appears to be quietly introducing a new feature called “code-in-painting” to their Claude AI artifacts in the cloud. This feature, discovered through reverse engineering a couple of weeks ago, enables users to interact with specific pieces of code through a pop-up widget offering two distinct options: “Explain” and “Improve.”

1. **Explain Option:** This option provides an explanation of the selected piece of code directly in the main window, detailing what it does and how it works.
2. **Improve Option:** This option allows users to input a new prompt to modify only the selected piece of code within the artifact. Afterward, Claude AI generates an updated version of the artifact.
