# New Canvas and Search Grounding features set to transform Google AI Studio

Google AI Studio is set to introduce several new features, as discovered by Bedros. These include a "Canvas" feature, which is currently in early development and has been demonstrated with a simple tic tac toe game. The Canvas tab UI also references localhost Canvas examples, though their intended functionality is not yet clear.

Another significant feature is the "Search Grounding" functionality, which is slated for release on October 25, 2024\.

This feature aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of AI responses by grounding them in factual information from trusted sources like Google Search.

The Canvas feature in AI Studio is distinct from OpenAI's recently launched [ChatGPT Canvas](https://www.testingcatalog.com/openai-unveils-canvas-for-coding-and-writing-projects-in-early-beta/), which is an AI-first text and code editor designed for collaborative project work. Unlike OpenAI's Canvas, which is a comprehensive tool for writing and coding projects, [Google AI Studio's](https://www.testingcatalog.com/tag/ai-studio/) Canvas seems to be more focused on integrating interactive elements, such as the tic tac toe game, into the AI Studio environment.
