Google Photos is pushing new search filters to more users along with an updated lenses scan layout

This feature started rolling out around 2 months ago but now it seemed to be pushed to more users. It allows you to apply search filters on Google Photos in a better way. For example, you can filter by a photo category like "screenshots" and also apply a filter for a certain person.

Apart from this, the image scan UI that comes from Google Lens got a slight refresh on some photos making it easier to access quick actions like Copy, Translate, or Select.

How to test:

  • Open a search tab.
  • Tap on the Screenshots category.
  • Scroll down a bit.
  • See a top bar with suggested quick filters on top.

Tester Context:

  • 📲 Google Photos is an official gallery app by Google that implements machine learning features.
  • 📲 No public beta version is available for Google Photos app.
