Google is working on a new feature for its recently released deep search functionality in Gemini, where the results are being opened in a canvas form. With this new feature, users will be able to edit the output straight in the canvas. There will be a possibility to modify headings, lists, and other parts of formatting, making the editing process even easier. There is already an option to export it to Google Documents, but this would allow users to make edits directly without the need to export.

Additionally, there is a new button that resembles a cloud sync icon, suggesting there could be an option to synchronize these research documents directly or automatically with Google Drive. This would simplify the workflow and eliminate extra steps.

Beyond the canvas editing feature, Google is also developing two other tools: [scheduled prompts](https://www.testingcatalog.com/scheduled-prompts-feature-may-soon-roll-out-to-gemini-users/) and [an image editor](https://www.testingcatalog.com/google-advances-image-editing-tools-with-creative-partner-for-gemini/). It is possible that the image editor will launch alongside the multi-model image generation feature of Gemini 2.0, which has been teased for release in Google AI Studio. The same functionality may be integrated into [Gemini](https://www.testingcatalog.com/tag/gemini/) via this new editor, likely being released simultaneously. If so, this would represent a significant advancement compared to competitors.
