GitHub for Android revamped its search feature to make it faster

There you can select to run your search query across different categories and pick only those that you are interested in. It is possible to search across repositories, issues, pull requests, and more. The search itself also became a bit faster and there you can see your search history being saved.

This looks like an interesting approach to handle search features because the app can perform a search operation during the time while the user is selecting what he is looking for.

This update also comes along with a possibility to playback videos in issues and pull requests from the app.

How to test:

  • Open the app, tap on the search icon on top.
  • Type your query and hit enter.
  • Select one of the available categories.
