Google is integrating its [Veo 2 video-generating AI model](https://www.testingcatalog.com/google-prepares-canvas-and-veo2-integration-for-gemini/) into Gemini Advanced for paying subscribers. Starting Tuesday, Gemini Advanced users can select Veo 2 to create eight-second, 720p videos in a 16:9 aspect ratio, which can be shared on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. The videos can also be downloaded as MP4 files with Google's SynthID watermark. This offering does not extend to Google Workspace business and educational plans.

Veo 2 is also being added to Whisk, an experimental tool in Google Labs, where users can create videos from image prompts using the new Whisk Animate feature.

This move is part of Google's strategy to compete with platforms like OpenAI's Sora. Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, has stated that the company plans to merge Gemini AI models with Veo to improve its understanding of the physical world.

Google, a technology company, aims to enhance its AI capabilities by integrating Veo 2 with Gemini. This allows users to generate videos and is part of Google's broader strategy to compete in the AI video generation market.
