Facebook is rolling out Favourites and Recent feeds that are not powered by algorithms

Some users on Android may spot tab navigation on top of their feed with "Home", "Favourites" and "Recent" tabs.

  • The home tab remains the default and works the same way as it was before.
  • The recent tab shows your post in chronological order.
  • The favourites tab allows you to select people and pages you want to read about first.

The setting button next to this tab opens another popup that allows you to pick a default news tab. In this case, the tab bar will get hidden but you will be able to swipe it down again afterwards.

The feature was announced in October last year.

It turns out that you can only select up to 30 accounts as Favourites and the tab will only show results from the past 3 days over there.
