On Clubhouse it is now possible to chat with other users while you are listening to someone in the audio room. After joining a room you can find a little Paper Airplane icon button that will open a backstage (Clubhouse's chat).
Hosts can also utilise this feature to be able to communicate with other co-hosts whose chats will be shown on top for them.
In case if you missed it, Clubhouse also got much better notification controls allowing you to turn them off completely.
What's New?
- Now you can get to the Backchannel without leaving the room you're in! Now when you're in a great room and want to access your backchannel, just tap the airplane icon on the bottom right of the screen and the Backchannel will open right inside the room! Pro tip: When you're in a message thread, you can tap just above the Backchannel window to quickly get back to the room without having to tap the "<" icon twice. :)
- Swipe to open the Backchannel from the hallway. Now your chats are just a swipe away. When you're in the hallway, swipe left to open the Backchannel. Easy!
- Quickly create a group chat with the other speakers on stage. We've heard feedback that it'd be great if we could make it easier for speakers in a room to create a group chat together. Now you can do this more easily — Just open the backchannel, create a new chat, and you'll see the other speakers on stage at the top of the list!
