A broader rollout of the advanced voice mode for ChatGPT seems to be scheduled for September 24th. According to recent leaks, there is a planned announcement for this date spotted in the code. This rollout is likely to be shown to users on mobile apps rather than on the web. Alongside this, there have been reports that the [advanced voice mode FAQ has been updated](https://x.com/btibor91/status/1836527638598545794?ref=testingcatalog.com). Some users also noticed changes to the information screen for the standard voice mode. Previously, it mentioned that the advanced voice mode would be released to all users by the end of the fall, but now [it states a more generic message](https://x.com/lucasholl427/status/1836514935200977314?ref=testingcatalog.com) that it will be released gradually soon.

There have been a couple of new developments on the ChatGPT app for macOS as well. In the voice mode UI, the familiar black round icon representing ChatGPT’s voice has been replaced with a sky animation which follows the voice as it speaks.

Additionally, on the voice page, there is now a button offering quick access to voice selection. Currently, there are only four voices available, but the UI appears to be designed to support more voices in the future. This aligns with [previous reports suggesting that more voices are available internally](https://www.testingcatalog.com/chatgpt-hints-at-up-to-8-new-voices-available-for-read-aloud/), though they are still in development.

Overall, next week might bring the much-anticipated advanced voice mode, but it’s worth noting that a similar [ChatGPT](https://www.testingcatalog.com/tag/chatgpt/) announcement in June did not lead to a release. So, while the signs are promising, it’s best to stay cautiously optimistic.
